Our Story

At Customized Supports, our story begins with me, Declan Arnold. My journey into the world of disability support was fueled by an academic background in Occupational Therapy, where I learned to view humans as occupational beings - each with unique needs and contributions to the world. My passion for understanding and advocating for those who sometimes don't have a voice led me to start this company.

 

I've seen firsthand the challenges within the support worker industry. Too often, participants are paired with individuals who don’t understand or resonate with them, leading to less than optimal outcomes. Driven by the desire to change this landscape, Customized Supports was born. Our mission is to reimagine how we match support workers with participants, focusing on compatibility through personality, physical requirements, and specialized training.

 

Though I may be young, my confidence stems from many years of hands-on experience as a support worker, coupled with my academic insights. I am committed to not only matching but also mentoring our workers to ensure they are equipped to make a real difference. I believe in revolutionizing the sector by fostering better understanding and acceptance in the public eye, showcasing that with the right support, everyone can lead a fulfilling life.
